I am a lens-based artist focusing on processes of human interference within natural landscapes.

My ongoing work, the Architecture of Spectacle, examines sports venues as architectural devices. These purpose-built apparatuses enable i.e. mountain biking, big-air snowboarding and F1 racing athletes to exceed their limits. They also create the theater in which the audience observes, records and broadcasts the spectacle. Without the action and the crowds, I depict these mostly temporary structures as architectural interventions that playfully critique their urban contexts.

My works, mainly large-scale photographic prints and video installations, have been published and exhibited in various solo and group shows across Europe, including the public Art Festival Art Altstädten Albisrieden in Zürich (The Mockup series) and the f-stop Festival für Fotografie in Leipzig. My series on the Mississippi River was published in Das Magazin, the illustrated weekly of the Swiss newspaper Der Tagesanzeiger. In 2016, I was commissioned by the Swiss government to document their official buildings for the publication and exhibition Bundesbauten - Die Architektur der offiziellen Schweiz.

I am half of the creative duo Wilson Wootton, which makes photography and design around architecture, performing and visual art. I have been teaching photography at the ETH Zürich Department of Architecture since 2012, and taught Media Art at the University of Art and Design / ZKM Karlsruhe from 2011 to 2017. I studied Media Art at the University of Art and Design / ZKM Karlsruhe from 2003 to 2009, and received the MFA from the Glasgow School of Art in 2010.
